Meds: There isn't any one best medication.  I see your medications listed as paxil, (paroxetine) zoloft, wellbutrin & xanax.  Are you taking Paxil (paroxetine) & zoloft simultaneously?  It is unlikely that one single medication will be adequate (mono-therapy). However, an atypical antipsychotic may be a good choice. This class of medications is used for schizophrenia, often for bipolar disorder as well as dissociation &gt;&gt;.

is haloperidol used for schizophrenia treatment only? i am prescribed with halo. i am expriencing voice hallucinations and was diagnoised with ptsd.

Haldol (haloperidol): Can be used 'off-label'. It is an older antipsychotic medication that has indications for schizophrenia ; tourette disorder. It can be used for psychotic or dissociative symptoms (such as can occur with ptsd). I prefer working with the newer class of atypical antipsychotics. Take care.

i'm 62 with schizophrenia and ptsd, suddenly stopped talking 6 weeks ago. i don't know remember or know why. can i be helped?

The reason why: you stopped talking is not nearly as important as beginning to talk again.  Start w/notes, then sing, then sentences.  Please get a check up by your doc to make sure all is well vocally and w/your ears.  You can give him/her a note to start then see if you can speak again.  Peace and good health.  Telephone talk can also bridge the gap.

Suggestion is: 1) identify personal coping resources to manage the situation until resolved, and 2) identify resources (ie, other family, support, or health care providers) that could assist in making plans and resolving the situation. No.: I believe you have all the symptoms you say. But psychiatric diagnosis is much more complicated. It is likely that you don't have all the syndromes, but rather one, with symptoms that overlap with other syndromes. Self-diagnosis is hazardous. Besides, you are probably miserable with those symptoms.  I hope you go for professional help.

PTSD: I am sorry for our difficulties. You need to find a very skilled psychiatrist to manage. Usually environment only " triggers" basd on associations.

i have paranoid schizophrenia, also ptsd from use of restraints/seclusion in hospitals for days + weeks w/i last few years. 3 im meds came with for "not following directions" they said. was this right?

Hard to assess: Without having seen the true context of these events, i can only guess.  I'm not sure what "directions" you were being given, but it's possible that your behavior was interpreted as acutely escalating symptoms of your illness. It's also true that the hospital can be frightening for people, and hallucinations can evoke scary behaviors. Please tell your doctor or hospital ombudsman of your concerns.

i have adhd, bipolar, schizophrenia and ptsd. i take 200mg of seroquel (quetiapine) to sleep but gained weight i used to weigh 164 now 230 are other meds to sleep?

Prazosin: You can add in prazosin for your ptsd. This will help with nightmares. Then you can pretty much select the antipsychotic medication of your choice and should be able to get a good nights sleep. Discuss this option with your psychiatrist and discuss with him or her what they think would be the best alternative antipsychotic for you. Best wishes.
