im taking prilosec and carafate (sucralfate). under moderate stress, and barely eat due to my symptoms. can this delay my menstruation in any way?

Complex: Talk to your gastroenterologist or seek 2 nd opinion. There are no easy solution. Surgery is the last resort.

Unlikely: If you are on double dose prilosec, you should have very little acid and acid related reflux would be unlikely.

Your treating doctor: You doctor will guide you further. Most times gastritis heals pretty quickly...Like in a couple of weeks. Metaplasia/dysplasia is somewhat more unpredictable but follow up examination of your stomach should be considered  in order to monitor this change at least once yearly till it normalizes.

Treat GI: Prilosec can cause micronutrient malnutrition due to malabsorption. Carafate (sucralfate) can sometimes have aluminum in it. All this can contribute to fatigue. Also if you are losing blood from an ulcer, anemia can also make you tired. Proper testing may help find the cause.

Yes you can: Usually these meeds are taken before  a meal. If you have acid reflux  omeprazoke is better.  But you can take them together.

Gastritis: Both those agents may be helpful in the treatment of antral gastritis, but I regard ppi's the most effective. These include prilosec,nexium, protonix. I feel that one prilosec a day isn't sufficient to heal many cases of gastritis or peptic ulcer. A gastroenterologist can advise you best.

Up to a few weeks: If you truely have esophagitis, one would expect your symptoms to improve in a few days to a few weeks.

Can be NERD: Many times this problem is due to visceral hypersensitivity.
