You should probably get a CT scan of your head just to make sure there is no bleed. So, you can call your PCP to get it done as an outpatient or go to the nearest emergency room. If no bleed is found, then alternate diagnoses, like migraine, can be pursued. Good luck!

Unusual: It's not my first choice. In fact I have never prescribed it for migraines. But some doctors use it. Is this like a third or fourth choice? Are you to take it daily or just as needed? There are other things to try depending on frequency and severity of your headaches and your overall cardiovascular risk factor

Biofeedback/yoga: Some physicians recommend learning biofeedback, yoga, or other forms of relaxation techniques which can reduce the frequency of of migraines.  Please discuss with your physician.

Good questions!: Migraines have many causes; mostly they are inherited, but other factors (estrogen, stress, traumatic head injuries and others) can play roles, too.  It may benefit you to identify what trigger your migraines; common triggers include more than 5 cups of coffee daily, chocolate, nitrates & nitrites, sulfates & sulfites, nuts, alcohol, msg, etc.  See a neurologist to treat your migraines.
