Probably no: Although mono can cause a wide variety of symptoms, diarrhea is not usually one of them. Any systemic viral illness can give you body and joint aches, including those viruses that cause gastroenteritis, which is most likely what is present in your case.

Yes: Many viruses, including EBV and CMV can affect the GI tract, and can even cause a temporary hepatitis. As long as he's otherwise healthy, the diarrhea should resolve within a week or two.

Colitis: Mono with associated hepatitis may have caused a temporary irritable bowel syndrome with cramps and loose stools. If the liver is severely inflamed, urine turns Brown and stools become clay colored. Avoid harsh roughage and try kaopectate (kaolin and pectin) as needed for diarrhea. If symptoms persist or worsen,consult your physician.

A pediatrician: He should see a pediatrician.  And while he's waiting he needs to be well hydrated.  If he has severe pain or can't keep fluids down he should go to an emergency room.

Sounds reasonable: Sounds like they did a fairly extensive workup and the diagnosis is reasonable.   If symptoms persist or worsen, however would return for followup.  Did they give you any meds for symptom treatement (pain/nausea, etc), or any treatment for flu such as tamiflu).

40f vaxd and mono boosted. faint positive on covid at home rapid test day 11. symptoms have improved but are not gone. fever free for 72+ hours but sometimes have chills. still have extreme fatigue, cough, nausea, diarrhea. still contagious?

: Typically, after 11 days you are not considered contagious. But, if your symptoms, including cough and diarrhea, are due to Covid, then you may still be contagious. You certainly should not be going to work yet until your symptoms are improved. It is possible your test was more strongly positive later than the test you refer to so you may not be 11 days out. Call your doctor if symptoms not better

: What was the total white blood cell count in your CSF? The cell type percentages mean nothing if the total is low and normal. Post a new question with the total WBC count, and also protein level.

: Those symptoms are not unusual. If you don't have high fever (more than 102) and/or no shortness of breath, you can continue with symptomatic treatment for cough, diarrhea, etc. You should increase fluid intake, preferably with sport drinks for calories and electrolytes. See doctor for high fever, chest pain &amp; shortness of breath or productive cough with greenish phlegm. Expect improvement soon.

Flu is most likely: Given the symptoms you have described, and the season of the year, flu would seem most likely.  Rest, plenty of fluids, time and NSAIDS or Tylenol should help. In my humble opinion, Tamiflu is not worth taking. AT best you get better one day sooner.
