It will not affect the frequency of the cycles.

MENORRHAGIA?: If you are having heavy mens. And not pregnant, your sx are due to the period and start on iron pills. Hydrate with fluids so you will not feel weak.

Confused: Midol is an analgesic to help with the pain of menstruation.  It won't help start it.

Yes: Teen midol contains a pain reliever (acetaminophen, commonly known as tylenol) and a medicine to make you pee more, called a diuretic. You'd do better to take plain acetaminophen, though.

No, but...: Different people can have different responses to drugs. Women who take ibuprofen (as in Advil or Motrin) may have some lightening of periods due to anti-inflammatory effects of ibuprofen. Midol's 4 products contain acetaminophen (not ibuprofen) and are not expected to cause lighter periods. A teen with occasional lighter periods is usually not a problem. One can call her doctor if feeling worried.

i just took dayquil this morning and my period started, so i took some midol. i didnt think until after that there could be negative interactions. is there anything i should be worried about?

Double dosing: Dayquil, Nyquil, and Midol all have acetaminophen (the ingredient of Tylenol). That means one should not use both Dayquil and Midol unless one uses half the recommended dosing for each, such as using Dayquil the first half of the day and using Midol the second half of the day. The goal is to avoid excess acetaminophen. Accidentally doubled acetaminophen for just 2-3 doses should not be dangerous.

Menstrual pain: If you have abdominal pain on a monthly basis it could very well be due to your menses.  If your doctor has recommended Midol that is certainly worth a try.  However I would continue to see your primary care doctor.

you might bleed again next day or so
hormone changes can cause this
stress can cause this too.

Drug Interactions: There are many types of Midol. Drug interaction checker indicated that taking Midol Traditional (aspirin / caffeine), with Celexa (citalopram) may increase bleeding risk.
