what can i do about osteoarthritis in my feet and toes?

Wear and tear....: Osteoarthritis comes from wear and tear on the joints. If you are overweight or obese, you may get considerable relief by losing a portion or your weight, i.e., even five percent. This will take some of the stress off the joints. If you can take them, over-the-counter medications such as Ibuprofen or tylenol (acetaminophen) may help - but they're not for everyone, so check with your doctor. Exercise also helps!

i have osteoarthritis , but for a while now i have noticed  my feet  are very swollen and the skin seems very tight.  others have noticed to. why?

Something else : Sounds like u have edema in u'r feet. Not uncommon at all, especially if u are on u'r feet a lot. The main reason is gravity pulls things down, and as we get older out veins and Lymph vessels transmit the fluid/blood slower. I suggest trying compression socks, and seeing u'r doctor so he/she can do a physical exam.

my feet are alway cold and cant sleep without socks winter and summer,its like they are on ice. i also cant walk with my bear feet in the house most especially on a tile, they will get swallowed. please help me this is getting worse as i grow olde?

Talk to your Dr.: Cold feet can indicate vascular or circulatory problems. Talk to your Dr about possible underlying conditions causing this and what measures you can take to keep your circulation at an adequate level.

hi my feet gets very heavy and painful after i sit, stand or walk for a while. i can barely take a step there after. it seems to be getting worse. is there reason for concern. what can i do to help the situation. thank you ?

Heavy feet: Are  they swollen? Could be due to varicose veins, swelling for excess fluid due to  venous insufficiency or a liver or heart issue. May also be due to sciatica or other abdominal issue like ovarian mass. Would follow up with for through evaluation.

why do i get a numbness under my feet? most times my feet feels cold/numb. it feels worse when weather is cold. walking barefoot is tough.

Neuropathy: Get screened for diabetes and vitamin B12 deficiency and speak to doctor about peripheral neuropathy.

: Sorry about your difficulty with your feet. Any test that you had are not going to tell you anything about your feet. Having said that it sounds like you’re having a functional overuse problem. There are many reasons and causes for foot pain. You can try different types of shoes different type of over-the-counter supports. The best advice, see a podiatrist for proper diagnosis and treatment

See a Podiatrist: Sounds like you have done all that is reasonable on your own.  You did not mention your weight, which could be a major factor in causing pain in the feet, especially if you are standing hours on a hard surface.  A podiatrist would be a wise next step, or even your primary care physician.  Physical therapy and better orthotics may be the solution.  Yoga stretching may be recommended.  Good luck.

Heels lumps: Suspect pinching nerves when sitting.  As you did not say where limps were cannot help with that one. Discuss plantar fasciitis with your team.

Leg pains: Do you have diabetes or restless legs? Is this a result of chronic strain? Is there associated numbness or tingling to suggest neuropathy? Is there swelling,discoloration or tenderness to suggest vein or artery disease?  If taking anti-inflammatory medications like Advil or Aleve doesn't help, see your physician or a neurologist for evaluation.
