VARIETY : Many choices exist. If your magnesium is low you could supplement and perhaps control your headaches if indeed they are migraines.  Better headache prevention may be found with riboflavin, butterbur, feverfew, or co-q-10.

Magnesium: If chelated magnesium sets well with you then that is the best form of magnesium for you.  Having good levels of magnesium and other healthy minerals is important in staying healthy.  Live a healthy livestyle, do not smoke or take recreational drugs, or use very much alcohol.

Magnesium: Yes, in too high a dose can stress the colon and cause the runs.  A brand called "Jigsaw Magnesium" is a safer way to go if you encounter that situation.  Peace and good health.  Less likely than a laxative to cause dependence but it is psychologically possible.

Prevention: Riboflavin, magnesium, butterbur, feverfew, and coq-10 have been used daily to prevent migraine headaches.  Quality research has suggested good success, especially with purified butterbur and riboflavin.  All are available without a prescription, and, in some cases, rival success of prescription items.

250 to 500 mg: Magnesium deficiency has been found in many who suffer from migraine. A good retiming is to take enough till you develop diarrhea, then take one pill less. I place my patients on 500mg daily if they can tolerate it. Other important steps are, eating reg meals, proper sleep, exercise, stress reduction, and prevention and ablation meds that improve your condition

Yes.: Magnesium can be helpful as a migraine preventative medication, reducing the frequency and intensity of migraines. Also be aware that in some women, estrogen-containing birth control pills can cause or worsen migraines.

Magnesium: There is a brand name of magnesium called "jigsaw magnesium."  It is a combo of several types of magnesium and much less likely to give you the runs.  Peace and good health.  Also consider biofeedback or clinical hypnosis.

Rule out TMJ issues: TMJ problems can frequently cause headaches but there may be other causes. If you have not seen a dentist recently then have a dentist check to see if there is any TMJ related causes to the headache. Nightguards that are custom made by a dentist tend to work most of the time. If your current nightguard is an OTC one therein lies part of your problem.
