Not exactly.: Classic hyperparathyroid symptoms would generally refer to things like muscle aches, heartburn, or depression cause by pth-driven high calcium levels.  While low vitamin d levels can cause a high PTH level, it would usually be associated with low calcium levels.   This can cause other symptoms, however, including aching bones, and fatigue.

Primary hyperpara: Low vit d is common in patients with primary hyperparathyroidism.  Although it is possible that it can mask the hypercalcemia, usually it does not.  If your d is low, and you have hyperpara, you will likely still have a high ca.  The low d may make the PTH level even higher, and vit d supplements should be given and they will not exacerbate the high calcium.  This is complex. See endocrinologist.

It depend what kind: The gold standard of diagnosis is the parathyroid immunoassay. Once an elevated parathyroid hormone has been confirmed, goal of diagnosis is to determine whether the hyperparathyroidism is primary or secondary in origin by obtaining a serum calcium level which is high in primary case, low in secondary cases.

This would indicate possible underlying primary hyperparathyroidism.  While vitamin D deficiency can cause secondary hyperparathyroidism, usually calcium levels are not elevated in this context. recommend repeat evaluation after vitamin D replacement

Most of the: problems due to D deficiency don't cause significant symptoms that would bring it to your attention. Deficiency is due to poor sunlight exposure or lack of D in foo products (particularly dairy) or poor absorption. Luckily, D deficiency is easy to test for and very easy to treat (or prevent) with daily D supplementation.
