: Likely question to ask is whether the thigh problem is due to disuse atrophy or nerve problem associated with prior surgery.  An EMG study can help sort this out, and could be easily done prior to further surgery.

Starting with: frankly, a country doctor. You'd want a general overview to see where to start. the location and movement of a pain gives clues as to what is going on and with weakness it is a nerve, and therefore most commonly lumbar disk. There are specific physical findings to localize the problem. and.. with weakness, it is a serious disorder perhaps even requiring emergency attention.

Muscle &amp; Joint issue: You need to be evaluated by your doctor.  He/she will give you a diagnosis and treat accordingly.  There are a number of possibilities such as neuropathy and fibromyaglia and arthritis.  Peace and good health.

Lack of stretch: If you are not stretching enough and then complicate the issue by trying to exercise by running, etc.  You will get a tight achilles.  When you overuse the achilles without a proper warmup the calf muscle will lose it's oxygen, creating occasional cramping and tightening.  Good luck.

Can be very helpful: Both massage and passive and active stretching can be very helpful for tight hip . Flexors. While a home program for stretching can work fine massage needs to be done by a provider trained in neuromuscular massage in order to get the most benefit. Stretches should be demonstrated at least once to make sure they are done properly.  Find a facility that provides physical therapy and massage.

Calf muscles: The gastrocnemius and soleal muscles become the achilles' tendon at the myotendinous junction. If these muscles are tight you will feel it in the achilles' tendon. Stretching exercises are necessary to stretch both muscle groups consult either a podiatrist, physical therapist or your family doc for the appropriate stretches to do.

See below...: The diagnosis is clinical- depending on the range of motion and level of pain.  Causes are many from genetics, to inactivity to injury to biomechanics.  Treatment starts with aggressive stretching, possible physical therapy, and if it's a real problem, surgery.

Consult your MD: Your pain in right side of abdomen below the rib cage may be due to gall bladder condition, or a kidney stone
you need to see your doctor as you may need exam, blood and urine test and ultrasound and/or cat scan.

See your doctor : You have a specific diagnosis, so the doc who gave you that and sent you to pt needs to now re-evaluate. Accupunture will not speed the healing of your connective tissue. If rest and pt aren't helping, then maybe surgery is indicated.  But be patient, and follow your doctor's advice.
