recently started 5 mg of lisinopril. lately throat is very dry makes me cough. i drink a lot of water. the cough could be side effect but can the med cause the dry throat as well? i dont think its a cold?

: You may think you are coughing because of dry throat but it is not, the cough is likely due to Lisinopril's adverse effect. Dry mouth or throat does not cause cough. If you stop Lisinopril, the cough will resolve after 2 weeks, may be earlier because of recent use. Your doctor can try a different medication which is not in ACE inhibitor group..

switched from lisinopril to losartan about a month ago. still have intermittent dry cough starts as throat tickle. is this lisinopril residual or does losartan cause a cough as well? unless allergies. several covid rapid tests negative so not sick?

: If the dry cough and tickle throat have improved but not resolved completely, you should wait continue with Losartan. Sometimes, it takes months for those symptoms go away. If you do not feel any improvement, Losartan should be changed to a different category, not ACEi or ARB drug. Rarely but some patients still have those symptoms with Losartan, an ARB drug.

No: See a dermatologist. You note "bleeding"-------where? You are young for heart attack. Why no statin???? Smoker? Most common problems from Lisinopril are cough and angioedema. There can be swelling of the face, tongue, etc. "Pimples" may be acne keloidales. You need a skin specialist.
