Osteoporosis: Currently it is better to think of osteoporosis as a condition that can be managed or treated rather than cured.  This is usually performed by dietary modifications, ingestion of supplemental calcium, vitamin d and a class of agents notice the bisphosphonates. These are usually delivered via oral or intramuscular injection on a weekly or monthly or even yearly basis.

Which one?: Daily Forteo injections are fairly safe but can cause high calcium and dizziness. (risk of bone tumor is likely nil.) twice yearly Prolia has a small risk of skin rashes and infections plus rare jaw osteonecrosis. Yearly infusions of Reclast (zoledronic acid) and quarterly IV Boniva can cause muscle aches and rare jaw osteonecrosis. Ask your doctor about whether the benefits outweigh these risks.

Osteoporosis is part of the aging process, wear and tear- no we have not found any fountain of youth yet. Medication is available to help osteoporosis and paget's disease of the bone- that is intended to help relief bony pain, and for other indication- ie. Abnormal blood test etc. Please discuss  w/ your md in detail.

Osteoporosis: If you are asking about yourself, unless you have underlying medical issues you are unlikely to have osteoporosis issues at age 34 unless there is a strong family history of early osteoporosis. If it turns out you do have osteoporosis there are a number of very helpful medications to lower the likelihood of bone loss and may increase your bone mass.

No.: If a 22 year old has legitimately earned the diagnosis of osteoporosis, she (/he) needs to work with an endocrinologist to determine best course of action to increase calcium deposition for protection in older age. That diagnosis is usually not seen for 30-40 more years, so not the time to try to be 'natural.' good luck!
