However, pain is very subjective, so if a person believes he is doing more to treat his pain by buying copper bracelets, he may truly feel less pain. The same holds true for magnetic bracelets, as they don't work either. The manufacturers and sellers do enjoy selling them, as more sales means more income.

Diet and medicine: It is called gouty arthritis. It is due to uric acid crystal deposition into the joint. Either due to over production of uric acid or under secretion of it. There are medicines available which helps the uric acid metabolism or excretion. Of course diet should be modified accordingly.  Avoid excessive alcohol ingestion.

Unlikely: Define herx.

If you had  Lyme disease and we  would to know the findings at that time and If you had  appropriate  antibiotics   you should be fine BUT if you were  reinfected then you could have  Lyme disease.

Your  physician will be able to test  lab test to help clarify. There  may be  many other diagnoses so you need  an evaluation.

Often misdiagnosed: You should see your doctor and discuss this. Just because you have made antibodies against rmsf bacteria in the past, it doesn&#x27;t mean you are currently infected with it--particularly if it was correctly diagnosed and treated in the past.  Flu-like symptoms and joint pain are very common with many types of common viral infections. My guess is that it is most likely not rmsf, but see your doctor.
