For best care,I recommend consulting a pediatrician with a specialty in infectious diseases. Often, best results are with hospitalization for a few days. In this manner appropriate testing can be carried out expeditiously and access to other specialists is available quickly. You may have to find such a specialist in the department of pediatrics in a university hospital near you.

An immune work up should be considered. Is his chest radiograph normal? A screening test for autoimmune disease may be helpful. A CBC, differential and platelet count is recommended. Monitor temperature and breathing, please follow-up. A virtual consult with Health tap is recommended.
