In addition, recent surgery, especially in the urogenital region can cause it as well, so theoretically, a recent varicoselectomy could cause it. Best to see a urologist.

Unusual: Stitched in place, or stapled in place.
Usually substantial scar, which is the healing process to prevent recurrence would keep from " migrating".

Infection of the foreign material is a risk.
Erosion of  tissue, or extrusion  can occur.

: Sharp pain that is new, in the area of your hernia surgery, could be a muscle strain but could be a tear of some fibers or even a recurrence of the hernia.  If it persists definitely contact your surgeon’s office: they will likely want you to be examined.
