IIH and hypersomnia: Iih is not directly related to increased sleepiness and tiredness. Medical treatment of iih can cause tiredness, best to check with your doctor.

i have iih and a history of traumatic lps. tomorrow i will be having x-ray guided lp, told this is easier and safer. is this true? why?

Could avoid bones: With X-ray guidance, the LP / spinal needle can avoid hitting the vertebral bones that make up the spine. Under skilled hands, they can be avoided even without X-ray images, but given your history, it's probably best to get as much help as possible. While bones are sensitive, the skin houses the most nerves, &amp; so the procedure will probably not be totally pain-free w/o skin anesthesia. Good luck!

when should i be concerned about my iih papilledema? is there a certain sign or set of signs that mean i should see a dr. as soon as possible?

Persistent symptoms: These questions should be discussed with an ophthalmologist or neuro-ophthalmologist in person. Intermittent IIH papilledema is usually not a problem by itself: however, if the papilledema worsens or persists for a long duration, it can lead to vision loss. The usual symptom that is followed is vision: if vision becomes blurred or dark and does not improve, the doctor should be informed.

recently diagnosed with iih, been feeling nauseas and hot, i noticed when looking at thumbnails on phone, parts of the image tremble in center?

Check thyroid: IIH can be caused by thyroid disorder ( which can cause tremor as well ) heat intolerance and diarrhea can be seen with hyperthyroidism. Make sure BP and HR are in normal range on this combination of meds. Tell the neurologist about your symptoms.

i have iih, migraines and carotidynia. my carotidynia is extremely bad at the moment. why do i have all of these conditions? what's the common theme?

Anxiety : At your age you should be the most healthy person. Need to relax. Do yoga or meditation or Taichi or similar

Talk to your Doctor: It is unlikely that the Topamax (topiramate) is to blame DIRECTLY for worsening headaches since it generally used as a very good prophylactic agent in treating chronic migraines, however, there could be drug to drug interactions going on with other meds you're taking or your condition itself just spontaneously got worse coincidentally....maybe you just had a "bad day" with your IIH? Otherwise, talk to your doc

is flying with iih safe? no longer medicated as papilloedema cleared up. im going on my first 2 hour flight since diagnosis and im really scared i wont make the flight?

: Assuming that this will be a commercial flight, please realize that these cabins are pressurized, and provide no reasonable risk that would not be present at sea level.  Doubtful that you would have an issue if your IIH is in remission.
Also, get an opinion from your current doctor, just to be complete.

See a surgeon.: If you are referring to idiopathic intracranial hypertension, some patients respond with medications, other with surgical procedures, such as shunts or venous stents. Speak to a neurosurgeon if you want more information.

Relatively safe: Intracranial hypertension, or pseudotumor cerebri, is a condition that often causes headaches and blurred vision.  It is normally diagnosed by opening pressure on spinal tap and treated with medication.

I have never heard that it can cause death.  It's major disabling symptoms are headache and sometimes altered vision.
