Relatively safe: Intracranial hypertension, or pseudotumor cerebri, is a condition that often causes headaches and blurred vision. It is normally diagnosed by opening pressure on spinal tap and treated with medication. I have never heard that it can cause death. It's major disabling symptoms are headache and sometimes altered vision.
