Post-sedation: You must avoid driving, work, decision making or doing anything at risk until at least the following day. 
Midazolam or other meds do affect concentration and recall following the procedure.

how does will an endoscopy procedure work?

Upper/lower?: Upper=stomach endoscopy, usually no prep except not eating/drinking x 4 hrs, then sedation via iv, and doc puts scope through mouth and throat into stomach, looks and biopsies if needed. 
Lower=colonoscopy, prep by flushing system with strong prep laxatives, then sedation via iv, and scope enters via anus and looks at 5 feet of colon, biopsies etc.

had endoscopy done all clear nothing at all but still get acid takeing lanzoprozole  but dont work any reconmendation?

Usually: Prevacid (lansoprazole) helps with acid reflux. If use of proton pump inhibitors, GERD precautions like Upright 1 hour b/f and after meals, no smoking, minimizing alcohol, avoiding NSAIDS, small frequent meals and HOB elevation do not improve symptoms, alternative diagnosis may be considered.

sir iam suffering from severe nausea from 2 years and no medicines works upon me the endoscopy reports are normal ............plzzzz help?

See other specialist: If gastroenterologist has completed workup, labs are normal, and no medications that can possibly cause nausea, then may need to be referred to neurologist to see if there is central nervous system that be causing the nausea.  Knowing other associated symptoms would help.

can an endoscopy also detect dyspepsia? also what meds work with it and what foods should be avoided?

Detect causes: Dyspepsia is a symptom generally described as upper abdominal discomfort. An endoscopy can diagnose different causes of it i.e. Gastritis, ulcers, h. Pylori infection. Typical treatment is acid suppression with an h2-blocker or proton pump inhibitor. A bland diet would make the most sense with these type of symptoms

here are my symptoms, 3 weeks vomitting, lost 15lbs, pain started two days ago upper right, sharp pain goes to back, bilirubin in urine, all blood work neg. ct scan neg., gallbladder removed last year. gi specialist in hospital ordered endoscopy tomorrow

Your GI Doc can help: Upper Endoscopy is a good idea. I would also check for Pancreatitis (Blood Amylase levels).

Yes: The anesthetic likely used a type of opiate or benzodiazepine or a combination of the two, and would probably show up in the urine drug screen sample from work.

i think i need a endoscopy for gerd what ways do they sedate you and how long does it take for the sedation to work?

MAC for anesthesia : Assuming you are otherwise healthy, nost likely a single IV drug called propofol will be used under the care of  trained anesthesia personnell. This is called MAC or Monitored Anesthesia Care where you are deeply sedated yet breathing on your own to allow the endoscope to pass into your esophagus and stomach.  Recovery is usually less then 15min to wake up and dicharged in an hour to home.

what is the difference between nerd & gerd?  if my endoscopy shows normal but i have dysphagia corrected by nexium (esomeprazole), (esomeprazole) is this nerd?.. only nexium (esomeprazole) works.

NERD: ... Is an endoscopic term meaning that no erosions were seen in the esophagus by endoscopy .  It does not mean that you do not have gastroesophageal reflux disease. If Nexium (esomeprazole) helps, I would continue that medicine, as recommended by your gastroenterologist. You should also continue antireflux measures, in addition. Good luck.

i have terrible health anxiety and it is ruining my life. i have had almost every test in the book done except an endoscopy and vaginal ultrasound. i have tried counseling with several people and nothing works. what can i do? please help me. thankyou?

: Counseling ???? You need to find a life coach that will teach you methods of stress management. During the therapy you can explore any other triggers to your health anxiety, which is often a socially more acceptable coverup for what is really behind your fear. If you find the underlying triggers &amp; learn to manage stress, life can be better.
