my dr gave me script for phenergan (promethazine) 25 mg qd. and zofran 8 mg qd. the same day. is it safe to take together or don't. i have asthma & high bp. ?

CheckWithYourDoctor: Assuming you're of average size with no liver or kidney problems, not on medications that make you drowsy, or take any downers or drink a lot, or intend on driving or operating heavy machinery or have to study for a test or go to a movie intending not to fall asleep half through it or are going scuba diving you should do OK. But,really one of them is probably enough. Check with your doc;

Would get evaluation:  We need more information of your diagnosis. it would be better not to be on narcotics. Anxiety should be treated separately. It depends on your x-rays your examination and other imaging studies. You need to discuss your physician. A lot of this depends on the correct diagnosis

Medications: The Norco is a narcotic. Most narcotics can cause severe nausea. The Phenergan (promethazine) is an anti-nausea medication that can offset the side effects of the Norco. Hope your knee feels better

All are sedating: This could be potently sedating cocktail for someone who is not already used-to (tolerant to) these medications.  If instructions are unclear I would ask the prescribing doc how he or she intends you to take these.  Usually Norco is taken preferentially as-needed for pain.  Phenergan (promethazine) would be taken if you get nausea or itching from the Norco.  Flexeril, however has a less clear role in knee injury

Not diuretics: These medications are not diuretics. If you urinate every 10 minutes, urinary tract infection has to be ruled out. See your doctor. Bentyl (dicyclomine) has anticholinergic side effects and might be responsible for urinary disturbances, usually  difficulty to start urination.

Combo  for pain: Of course you can take tham together, but the real question is SHOULD YOU?? This is one of the highest addictive combination of drugs and has been abused for years. The habit is hard to quit and ultimately you may require higher doses. Best thing for muscular pain is exercises on a regular basis. Do yourself a favor and start with mild exercises and increase the over a few weeks and maintain.
