Yes: The bigger question is did you fall down the stairs or ar you asking to find out if you can? You can sprain or break  the ankle or do much worse. If you did fall, then get treatment by seeing an orthopaedic doctor or podiatrist.

RICE: Rest. Ice. Compression. Elevation.   Also oral anti inflammatory like Aleve (naproxen) with food. If symptoms persist or worsen after 48 hrs seek medical evaluation and X-ray to rule out a stress fracture

At least a sprain...: You definitely have sprained it. Using rice (rest, ice, compression, and elevation) for it can help over the next couple of days. Ibuprofen or Naproxen are good anti-inflammatory meds to take over the next number of days also (better at reducing swelling than tylenol (acetaminophen)). Having point tenderness (sharp pain with pressing on a spot) can sometimes mean fracture. Hope you feel better.

If : If there is any concern that you are pregnant, then please take a pregnancy test.  It sounds like you had a severe fall.  If you have continued spotting, or any vaginal pain or discharge, then please notify your physician.

Yes: More likely you ruptured the Plantaris tendon which  is a "violin string" like vestigial tendon running UNDER the Achilles In any case Ice Elevation first 48 hours then Heat and elevation. If there is bruising this will confirm this online Diagnosis

RICE: Rest, ice, compression and elevation are the place to start. Once things settle down after a week or so, start working on ankle strengthening exercises. A lace up brace or similar may also be helpful to make you more comfortable.

PT: You should get set up with physical therapy to improve peroneal muscle strength and balance sense (proprioception).  See your primary care doctor or orthopaedic surgeon to get examined and a prescription for physical therapy.

A compression stocking will help swelling resolution.

Many of these recover with time but p.T. Is recommended.

Yes: As with a cast, skin can peel if it has been wrapped continuously. Normally, the skin sheds a little at a time. With a continuous cover, that doesn't happen. When the cover is removed (cast, wrap), the skin makes up for lost time. Next time, remove the wrap regularly and wash with a wash cloth.

i fell down the stairs back in april . i am still having ankle pain . i am seeing a physical therapist and he said i have a high ankle sprain . i am not sure what to do for it ?

: I am assuming you have had an x-ray to make sure there is no fracture. Since you are still having pain, you should see the orthopedic doctor again to see if a repeat X-ray or an MRI might be helpful. Sometimes, a fracture doesn’t show on x-ray right away. If it is a sprain, continuing PT will be helpful. Hope you feel better real soon!
