A question 4 a chef: I am sorry but this is not  medical question. There are plenty of cook books/magazines, even dr. Google is likely able to help you. Scallop needs to high heat and to quickly get it golden on outside and moist/juice inside (as in picture). Calamary can be fried until crunchy! have fun..

Possibly: Allergy to shellfish is usually due to allergy to a common allergen. However, people may react differently to various shellfish. Not all shellfish may cause reactions. After 20 years, an initial contact may be tolerated. While calamari may be better tolerated than shrimp and crab, you should see an allergist before trying any shell fish if you had a bad reaction in the past.

May be: Calamari are one kind of squid, which are distant relatives of molluscs. They contain a protein, tropomyosin, that cross reacts with that of shrimp, crabs etc., sometimes also with that of dust mites and cockroaches. If you are not very allergic to shellfish, you may be able to tolerate calamari. If you are, either avoid them or see an allergist to be tested and find out if you can risk it.

Calamari=Squid: Calamari is squid, a mollusk that contains tropomyosin like shellfish, although it doesnt have a hard exterior. If you are allergic to shellfish, you might react to it. If it is cooked in oil that was used to fry any type of fish to which you are allergic, you could react to allergens in the oil. Eating out can be tricky if you have a fish allergy !  always carry Epipen (epinephrine) also.

I think so: From a diabetes standpoint you can have calamari, but i'm honestly not sure if there are restrictions because of the pregnancy ( like tuna).

Yes: About 10-15% of people who are shellfish allergic (shrimp, lobster, etc) are also clinically sensitive to mollusks (clams, squid(calamari), octopus). Ask your allergist before introducing mollusks to your diet.

: More info is needed to narrow my answer. Maybe you are referring to scalloping of the endosteum which is part of the bone. Endosteal scalloping is an imaging finding that a radiologist can see on XR, CT, and MRI. It indicates a disturbance of the bone and can occur around the knee (eg. femur/tibia) &amp; can be seen w/ benign and cancerous (malignant) processes. U need to get more info from ur doctor
