Popcorn is: Seen as an ok food by the ada.  The main caveat is to avoid the salt, butter, etc. That is in movie popcorn and lots of store brands.  Popping your own corn in some olive old is healthiest.  You can sprinkle some herbs on it if you like.  Corn is really a grain so if you do not tolerate grains be careful.  Peace and good health.

i'm coming off a bout of pancreatitis and feeling better.  have been eating bananas, toast, apple sauce, pasta and water for about a week.  can i eat popcorn out of an air popper?  cooks with hot air rather than oil

AHA recommended diet: The american heart association (aha) recommends that saturated fatty acids be less than 7% of daily calories.  Coconut oil is a saturated fat, therefore a similar diet would also be recommended for those with diabetes. So one would conclude that coconut oil is not good for people with diabetes.

how good is flax seed oil for a diabetic patient ?

For what purpose?: The body has to convert the omega 3 fatty acids in flax seed oil into epa and dha which are 2 kinds of omega 3 fatty acids which the body can utilize. Only 10% of the ala in flax seed oil is converted into epa and dha which are present in fish oil. Fish oil is better than flax seed oil for this reason.

For what purpose?: What are you hoping to gain from taking Fish Oil? It's one thing to eat fish as part of a healthy diet but that's very different from popping a few capsules to make up for dietary deficiencies. Currently, certain brands of fish oil are approved for those w/excessive triglyceride levels. But there is no approved use in diabetics or anyone else for any other reason. Diabetes?: The only way you will know if you have diabetes is to see your doctor and have your blood sugar measured.
Very likely to be OK and you can relax.
If you are found to have diabetes the management is worrying as you start but gets under control fairly quickly.
