It depends: Rectal bleeding can be caused from hemorrhoids(commonest cause) or by colon cancer. So an examination is required to find the exact cause. Any rectal bleeding is a signal to go to your doctor for a complete examination to find the cause and treat it accordingly.

No: Most common cause of bleeding with stool is hemorrhoids. One cannot really tell the cause of bleeding by history alone and people with recurrent bleeding need to have colonoscopy to ensure they do not have any cancer.

No: Occult blood in stool suggests a point of bleeding from area near appendix across the colon to the rectum.  This could be AV malformation, bleeding polyp, tumor, hemmorhoid or fissure.  When blood is detected it has to be defined as to origin.  Occassionally colonoscopy will reveal a lesion.  Newer stool tests for tumor protein more accurate.

So rare: You are more likely to get hit by a bus today than have colon cancer at your age. I'm not sure what symptoms other than "no blood" you refer to, as most colon cancers have no symptoms. If you are having abdominal pains, fullness, nausea, etc - then you should see doctor as there are literally hundreds of conditions other than cancer that could cause symptoms in abdomen.

Don't jump to cancer: There are other causes for blood in stool, so don't worry yet about cancer. See your doctor for an exam and stool sample to diagnose the probable source/reason for the blood. Probabilities of cancer at different ages can be factually accurate but can be worthless for an individual case. If you are getting wet, it's not useful to talk about the.

Black stools could be from as high as the stomach.The most common reason for bloody stools as a tear in the outlet from hard or lumpy stools.These reopen easily &amp; can take a while to heal.I would not assume a rare cause is present (cancer) but your doc can sort it out, sometimes with a simple exam
