can i give 4 year old 35 pound girl small dose of nyquil?

No: No. NyQuil contains a combination of medicines that may be VERY dangerous in young kids! If your child is in pain, over-the-counter Tylenol (acetaminophen) can help (take only as directed!). If they have a cough, then studies have shown that HONEY actually works better (1-2 tsp as needed) than cough syrup! It thins secretions and loosens the cough. Only use it in kids older than 1 year!

Don't : With single dose nothing is likely to happen. These are two different antihistamines and as a general rule two medicines of similar actions should be avoided

i have my 4 yr old son adult nyquil. the first 4mls at 11pm and the second dose 3mls at 2:10am. did i overdose him? i'm scared to death!

Poison control: Call poison control right now 800-222-1222.  I your child's weight and other health concerns need to be known.  Speak to your doctor before giving adult medications.

No: The am academy of pediatrics doesn't recommend any cough products for young children as they haven't been shown effective and sometimes are harmful.  Children's coughs may benefit from vaporizer, drinking fluids, and 1 tsp honey for those over 1 year.  If cough persists, see dr:  consider asthma, pneumonia, postnasal drainage cough, etc.  I am not familiar with gravol, so no advice with it.

can i give my 6 year old children's nyquil before bed for her coughing if i gave her children's flonase today for allergies? she has the cough due to post nasal drip because of pollen allergies?

: Current evidence doesn't show any benefit of using cough syrup for children. If you believe it is the common cold, a teaspoon of honey, nasal irrigation, and Vicks vapor rub are safe and effective. Flonase is appropriate for seasonal allergies along with an antihistamine such as Zyrtec or Claritin. Night time coughing can also be a sign of asthma

my 7 year old son has symptoms of a cold. coughing, running nose, mild fever, etc. i gave him 15 ml of childrens nyquil and within five minutes he began vomiting. i wont be giving him any more. is this a common side effect? should i be concerned?

: Influenza can involve coughing, runny nose, mild fever and vomiting. NYquil is not known for causing vomiting, but it may be that your son's illness was already priming him for a sensitive stomach. The best treatment for children who are ill with these symptoms is humidification and saline drops.

i gave my 8 year old daughter children's plus cough almost 2 hours ago but isn't helping, would it be ok if i gave her tiny bit of adult nyquil?

Unlikely to help: Cough is a protective reflex that allows the lungs to clear itself of irritants &amp; mucous debris. Studies of cough/cold preparations find they do little if anything in kids under 12. Mucinex can thin the secretions so they are easier to cough out, but the antihistamine containing products like NyQuil thicken them, making them harder to move.

i gave my 15 year old a zyrtec (cetirizine) this morning (9am) can i give him some nyquil, as the zyrtec (cetirizine) did nothing to help him. ?

Zyrtec (cetirizine) and Nyquil: It depends on what Nyquil you have as there is one on the market with an antihistamine in it, which is what Zyrtec (cetirizine) is.  You would not want to take two antihistamines in one day without talking to your physician or the pharmacist.

Mgt: Nasal saline rinses may work as well fewer side effects. I would nif advise using Nyquil.

how many hours apart do i have to wait if 10 year old daughter took nyquil  and now i want to give her ibuprofen?

2 hours: Nyquil contains Acetaminophen (generic tylenol),  if you need to give Ibuprofen because of fever or pain, you need to wait at least 2hours.
