Yes: Endometriosis continues to grow as long as estrogen is present, so once a woman is in menopause and her estrogen levels have declined, most symptoms related to endometriosis will resolve.

Perhaps not for you: Acessa is a novel, fairly good and very promising procedure for treating uterine fibroids and preserve the uterus.  Its success depends often on the size, location and number of fibroids in a uterus. It is not a treatment for endometriosis.  Hysterectomy laparoscopic, transabdominal or transvaginal at this point in your life may not be a bad recommendation, particularly if you are very symptomatic

i went to ob/gyn in march because i was scared my endometriosis was back, he confirmed its not, he then put me on melodene to regulate my period. however, 3 months in, my cycle is no longer regular, i spot almost daily as well.

Spotting ?'s: Melodene is effectively a low dose oral contraceptive, and if one is not taking it within the hour of the preceding active pill, withdrawal bleeding can occur, just like when the pill is stopped at the end of  a cycle.  Stop the Melodene now, and wait five days, then restart with a new pack and remember to be punctual or the process will recur.

ob/gyn prescribed: progesterone 400 mg+vit e&c+aspoci
is this safe

Having endometriosis: On right ovary after you are already pregnant in-and-of itself does should not alter implantation. Without knowing your specific history, giving Progesterone is not generally necessary, but some will do it when a patient has "shortened luteal phase". I would speak to your doctor and ask for clairy as to why he/she is putting you on these meds. Vit c and e, do not benefit. Aspoci?

Yes: Those medicine are safe in the correct doses. Usually Progesterone is only used in the first 10 weeks of pregnancy and then stopped. Aspirin is also safe in pregnancy. You should have no reason to be worried.

should i trust a regular ob gyn to do a laparoscopic cystectomy on an 8.4 and 4 cm hypoechoic cystic lesion? or should i have a gynecologic oncologist do a laparatomy? both suspect endometriomas/endometriosis but have different surgery suggestions.

GYN oncologist: GYN oncologist always preferable since many complications reported after laparsocopic GYN procedures.  Bowel injuries and bleeding during cystectomy reported and often because of unexpected findings procedure has to be converted to an open one. This is especially true in the presence of endometriosis.

how do you get endometriosis?

Endo: In short we don't know. There are some theories that suggest that endometriosis occurs because of back bleeding through the fallopian tubes into the pertoneal cavity and the body is not able to digest this blood for  which reason endometriosis develops. Most women have retrograde menses but only about 10 percent may get endometriosis due to a faulty immunological system.

Possible: Endometriosis does run in families, but by no means does that mean that you will inevitably get it.  Let's keep our fingers crossed that you don't!
