throat infection, should i drink beer?

Thanks for asking!: What an interesting question which I am sure beer lovers are waiting anxiously to hear the answer - it probably would depend on what type of throat infection you have.  The conservative physician answer would be that if you have an infection in which you are being treated with medications (antibiotics) you probably shouldn't drink alcohol with those medications.

?: You fix it yourself! quit smoking and cut down on the booze! aren't you glad you didn't have to pay for my advice? That would've been the easiest 45 bucks ever! stay healthy.

"All Natural" means-: -that it is exempt from the testing "artificial" drugs undergo to find out about their effectiveness. In short, there is nothing in it that is known to interact with Clindamycin; but if there is, the company that produces natural supplements is under no obligation to check for it, or to tell you if they find it.

i have strep throat, i received a shot of penicillin for it.  by dec 31 it will have been 2 full days since injection.  can i drink on new years eve?

Antibiotics alcohol: although alcohol does not reduce the effectiveness of most antibiotics it can delay how quickly you recover from an illness.  It's a good idea to recover from your illness before using alcohol.

Could be: Especially if you have fever.  Only ways to know for sure is examination or culture.  You need to see a doctor.

Strep verification?: Was your strep throat verified by culture?If not, you have to find the cause of your pain. In the meantime try ice cream or popsicles. They are very soothing.

HAND TO FACE TRANSFR: I know a psychologist who studied human behavior & found the average adult touched his/her face with unwashed hands 6x/hr & nose 2x/hr.Anytime we do so we can pass germs from what we touch to areas that allow germs access to the nose & mouth. You can do what you can to avoid it, but strep is carried  by at least 5% of asymptomatic people continuously.

Hard to guess: Throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor (call first) if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly. COVID-19 infections tend to have cough, whereas strep usually lacks cough but has more throat pain.
