Human Blood: It is very unlikely there was human blood (other than your own) in your mouth. In addition, you could have been mistaken regarding what you tasted. Your gums may have bled or you may have bitten your cheek or tongue by accident.

Symptoms include fever, pain of multiple joints, muscle pain,nausea, vomiting, rash, headache &amp; conjunctivitis.  Serious complications can sometimes occur. Death from Chikungunya is rare.

Please return to your physician for a reassessment of the reason for this change in color to determine if it is temporary, side effect of medication or a complication of the infection.
