hi when i brush my teeth sometimes i'm seeing blood somewhere so what do i do for that is it normal to bleed when brushing your teeth sometimes.?

Sign of inflammation: Some blood on your toothbrush is nothing to panic about. It does indicate inflammation of the gums. At your age this is likely gingivitis. A good professional cleaning, good brushing and flossing technique, and some Listerine will usually do the trick. A visit to your friendly neighborhood dental hygienist is a good place to start.

i had a issue where i struggled to brush teeth because or anxiety i got over it recently and can actually do it twice a day but i've noticed white gums and blood when spitting could it be cancer?

: It appears that your gingiva is inflamed, thus the bleeding. Have you seen a dentist for a professional cleaning in the past six months? If not, make an appointment. If you have built up calculus th brushing isn't really going to help until that calculus is removed.

good morning dentists! is it safe or not safe for an (older) adult to brush teeth more than 2x/day? also i have gum issues and get blood in saliva usually at night. what might cause this and how should i treat it?

SAFE: If you brush after eating three times a day it is safe. Use a soft toothbrush  so you don't      irritate your soft gums which can cause  bleeding .Rinse with hydrogen peroxide and Peridex and massage your gums which a gum specialist [PERIODONTIST] will tell you if you are so concerned about your problem. Now make an appointment to see a gum specialist.

Yes: Any time you see blood where it should not be,  you should be concerned. See your doctor or an ENT to have a head and neck evaluation.

May be urgent: If this is just developing at this very minute, you may be in the early stages of a severe allergic reaction ("Steven-Johnson Syndrome") which is a medical emergency. If this is acute, TO IMMEDIATELY TO AN EMERGENCY ROOM. If this is not acute, it still will require careful evaluation.

Yes: Brushing 4 times per day may not be necessary to maintain oral health but it won't hurt ***** as long as you use a soft brush!

also, get a new one when the bristles look worn as they get very abrasive over time.

Brushing: Only if you are using a really abrasive toothpaste. Gentle brushing of your teeth twice per day for 5 minutes each time is more than sufficient especially if you floss. You can inadvertently damage gum tissue by brushing too much, however that should heal. Thorough gentle brushing twice per day and flossing won't hurt anything.

It doesn't matter: It's not about how often you brush, or if you use time interval, it's about how well you brush.
