Can be one or many: Herpes can show up as a single blister or multiple blisters.  It just depends on the extent of the disease and the individual.  Usually the sore is painful, although sometimes it can just be itchy.  If it is painless, however, it could be other possibilities like syphilis.  In addition, herpes sores characteristically tend to recur in the same location.

Herpes in the mouth: Well depending on 'what happened' recently I would include herpes as a possibility. Herpes ulcers generally form at the site where they invaded. If you had receptive oral sex, then in theory it would be possible. The best way to find out is to see an ID doctor who could take a culture to prove or disprove this theory. There are other causes for an ulcer back there, so I do recommend getting seen.

Sounds like it: This definitely fits the description for herpes.  A viral culture is the definitive test, but if i were you i would see doctor today and get started on some Acyclovir so you can help stem the outbreak and get tested at the same time. If culture comes back negative, then you can stop the drug, but at least you're starting to protect yourself.  Be sure to discuss with any relevant partners too, .

Maybe: The herpes family of viruses are very common. Some people will get outbreaks, others who are exposed may never have an outbreak, and only with a blood test will find out they were ever exposed.

For those who have outbreaks, they can release the virus before a sore is present, either oral or genital sores.

Herpes tends to be painful.  Salt water gargle (3x  /day -after meals) may decrease bacterial count and pain. May also be strep/chlamydia .Would f/u /w/ MD for culture and antibiotics if needed..

Not Herpes: Pus consists of dead white blood cells plus bacteria. All types of Herpes are viruses, as such can cause inflammation and inflammatory papules, spots, warts etc. but not pus. Thus you are describing a pustule or mini-abscess. You may require antibiotics if the pus containing sore/blister does not clear up after it has discharged it's pus.

They are the same!: You can look at the pictures posted her about the variuos forms of herpes i and ii as well as other on-line searches and compare what you have but the only way to be sure is to have a professional evaluated it. Both hsv i & ii sores will look different at different phases in the sore from onset to resolution & a professional will know all the possible appreances.

Yes it can. Treat.: Genital herpes can hurt with or without touching. Duration of the rash can be up to two weeks, without treatment. Medicines will help if they are started within first two days of the appearance the rash. If that is the case please see your doctor or go to urgent care right away. In the future make sure you see your doctor right away.
