Multiple causes: Do not assume the gas being the cause. If you are having any exertional chest discomfort, chest tightness and relieved by the rest, you need to see an md. It could be angina from the heart.
If you truly believe, it is gas, you try eating good food and may try some rx over the counter to see the effects.
Chest pains never to be taken lightly.

what is causing me to burp constantly? it feels like there is gas stuck in my chest and the pressure is giving me headaches.

This : This sounds like gerd (gastroesophageal reflux disease) aka acid reflux. When too much acid is produced in your stomach it flows back up into the esophagus causing burning and burping. Headaches can also result from this problem, but are not as common. Gerd can be managed by eating less acidic foods, spicy foods, chocolate and caffeine. Also acid blockers (i.e. Pepcid) or proton pump inhibitors (i.e.Prolosec otc) can be used to help reduce symptoms.

On the other hand chest pressure can also be cardiac in origin. Things such as angina can mimic gerd. This occurs when your heart muscle is not getting enough oxygen, and can ultimately lead to a heart attack.

I recommend making an appointment with your pcp (primary care provider) sooner rather than later. A more detailed history and physical along with diagnostic tests will provide a diagnosis, and treatment can be started.

gallbladder out 9 day ago! eating raw veggies!  lots pain pressure into neck shoulders chest - gas. should give this up for good!? total bland diet?

Have to give time: With pre existing gastric ( pepto bismol (bismuth subsalicylate) ) problems , it is only 9 th PO day, is not easy to digest raw veritable , you don't  have to give up , be patient give few more days you will be fine, speak to your surgeon

it hurts to eat or drink anything. i have severe gas and indigestion in my upper chest. constant burning and more severe when i eat or drink any thing. pain is 8 on (1-10) scale.  gaviscon and pepcid (famotidine) are giving minimal temporary relief.

Recommend : Recommend that you see you physician for a clinical examination. There are several things that could be causing these symptoms that need to be ruled out or in.  You may be suffering from stomach ulcers, gastric reflux, hiatal hernia, or nut cracker esophagus to name a few. Once that is done the appropriate treatment can be recommended.

Heartburn: Pain originating from your esophagus(food pipe) or from the lining in your lungs or heart may cause knife-like pain in your chest , under your breast.  If the pain is actually in your breast then this is not from gas, but something in the breast itself like an infection, like mastitis, or an inflammatory mass , or if you've had implants in your breast there may be related to healing if soon after.

i am 39+3 weeks pregnant and i have been having a stitch like pain under my left ribs. it also gives me gas and heartburn. my doctor said its normal nothing to worry about. what can it be? i know it isnt the baby?

: May be reflux especially since the anatomy is a bit distorted due to  pregnancy. Would ask your OB what you can take.  May also be food intolerances,  constipation or rarely may be gall bladder -though that is usually on the right ( can check ultrasound)  f/u/ w/ Ob  or gastroenterology

Unusual to: Have gas pains in chest, because your GI tract (except esophagus) should be in abdomen.  It could be pain coming from heart, such as angina, or from lung such as pulmonary embolus, so you should see your doctor.  These conditions are potentially serious, so get to a doctor for any chest pains.
