Fibrocystic changes: You could have fibrocystic changes. This is the most common cause of breast pain.  It can be aggravated by caffeine, stress, menstrual cycle and hormonal supplements. I recommend you get a full evaluation by a breast specialist.

Fibroadenoma: Fibroadenomas in the breast are firm masses and can be felt on inspection (palpation) and yes, can be seen on ultrasound. Usually, you don't need ultrasound to see them.
If you are talking about fibroids in the uterus (not fibroadenomas of the breast), yes they can be seen on ultrasound. Usually, they grow slow and can be multiple in number. They are benign growth and can cause excessive bleeding

Usually slowly: In general, most fibroadenomas grow slowly.  However, there is a condition called a Phyllodes tumor that looks like a regular fibroadenoma, but grows very quickly.  Sometimes it can turn into a special type of cancer, so I generally remove fibroadenomas.  An MRI can suggest a fibroadenoma, but the only way to know for sure is to get a tissue sample--a biopsy.

will it get dissolve on its own?
i asked my doctor but he is saying that it ll grow with time. is it true?

Doctor is right: Fibroadenoma ( proved by needle biopsy ), is a slowly growing benign tumor , rare malignant transformation     is possible  will  not disappear on its own with out intervention , like surgery or deep freezing . You have choice observe or get it removed

If large, remove: If the fibroadenoma is large, it can be confused with breast cancer on self examination and is a good idea to have them removed.

Fibroadenoma: Breast fibroadenomas are rarely cancerous, however, in your case, they can be large and painful which should prompt removal so as not to mask an underlying "hidden" separate cancerous tumor.

42 year old, diagnosed 2cm fibroadenoma today (uss and initial biopsy results-full awaited) after finding lump 1month ago had negative screening mammogram 3 months ago, should this not have shown up then? how quick do they grow?

: A "2 cm fibroadenoma" which is not accompanied by a cluster of calcium deposits may blend in with fibrocystic breast changes (FCD), especially in a woman at "42", who is not on oral bcp's, which accentuates the amount of FDC in breast tissue, b/c of the increase in estrogen production stimulating breast tissue b/c of aging eggs in the ovaries requiring more stimulation to cause ovulation.

just had mammogram and report says architectural distortion of right breast birads 0 and ive also had surgery on that same breast to remove fibroadenoma in 2015 possibly scar tissue ? need to go back for mammogram and ultra sound thoughts?

: A mammogram reading of BI-RADS score of 0 requires additional tests and images to provide a final assessment. Likely, your previous breast surgery changed the breast architecture (architectural distortion) so your mammogram could not be interpreted with confidence. You have nothing to worry at this point but your previous breast surgery should be noted by the mammogram tech with next mammogram.

can low dose birth control cause a breast mass fibroadenoma to grow larger? i have a 6 month follow up ultrasound on my breast mass next month. im hoping it hasnt grown due to my birth control. i just started it three months ago

Yes: Low dose or not BCP will cause breast tissue to enlarge. Estrogen and the Risk of Breast Cancer
