Excess salivation: Yes, acid reflux can make you feel nauseated, which causes some people to salivate. This is also referred to as water brash. Water brash frequently precedes vomiting.

does als cause excess saliva in the beginning stages? for few months have had feeling of extra saliva in mouth. would bulbar als present this way w/o slurring or constant choking?

: Issues with oral hygiene  are a more likely explanation. See your dentist for assessment of your oral health.

noticing small amount of saliva in corner of mouth. but not excess saliva in mouth - in fact, the back of my mouth doesn't have much saliva. i've read what causes excess saliva, but i'm wondering if being mildly dehydrated could do this?

: Dehydration lowers salvia production. So not that.  Keep a saliva diary and share with your Dr.

See your PCP: and dentist. Excessive saliva can be caused by either an increase in your body's production of saliva or a decrease in your ability to swallow saliva. Causes of increased saliva are : medication (e.g. Klonopin), gastroesophageal reflux disease or pregnancy or oral infection. See your PCP and dentist for evaluation and diagnosis.

after fluoride gel at the dentist and a bit of suction, i always have excess saliva form which i swallowed. is there enough fluoride gathered in this saliva to give you a headache or cause problems?

Highly unlikely: Fluoride gel is widely used and very useful. It is highly unlikely to give you headache and other problems. I do not think there is anything to worry about. Have it myself very often. You can relax and there is not need to worry.

Excessive saliva: This is actually a good thing . Those with poor saliva production suffer a lot with dry mouth, dry eyes, dry arm pits etc. Ask your DDS/DMD for a anti saliva medicine if you really need it. BUT only if you really need it.

Medications,illness: Side effects for many medicines include taste in mouth. Always good to be evaluated if it persists very long!

Could be many things: Besides sinus issues, infections, gastric reflux and drug side effects which should be rulled out with an examination,  I have found that the most common cause is an ill fitting denture, temporary flipper, mouthguard or sleep apnea device.  Also there are many different rare causes of excessive saliva that include things like parkinsons disease, and myasthenia gravis.  See your dentist.

Dr. can check throat: New throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold virus, influenza (Tamiflu may be needed), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat is bothersome, is with moderate or high fever, or with much coughing or worrisome symptoms. "Excess saliva" can also occur with huge tonsils or tonsillar abscess.

General practitioner: I have the largest concern with your throat area.  I would consult and visit your general practitioner to have that evaluated.  That may be the root of the other symptoms.
