i have been having a problem with constant bleeding and stomach pain. they put me on birth control it lessened it until recently. my doc did a pelvic exam and an ulrasound but nothing came up. what is endometriosis and could it be a cause? my aunt had it.

Maybe pain: Endometriosis is a pelvic peritoneal disease in women; often associated with pelvic pain and sometimes with infertility. It is definitely not a cause of dysfunctional bleeding though, so you "may" have more than one condition going on. You need to work with your doctor to take the diagnosis another step. Good wishes.

Abdominal pain: Severe pain of the abdomen requires evaluation as soon as possible. Serious conditions such as appendicitis, colitis, gallstone or gallbladder infection, and abdominal abscess all require medical treatment. If you have endometriosis and it is relapsing then you could develop abdominal pain, and you would need to see your gyn. The best course is to get checked out now.

i had ovarian lap 5wks ago to remove dermoidcyst & also had endometriosis.i still have bruise near navel, and stomach pain and tightness, is it normal?

Yes.: Depending on the length and extent of surgery, which is dependent on the size of the dermoid and severity of endometriosis, the answer is yes.  Stomach pain and tightness may or may not be related.  Intermittent cramping and bleeding can linger 2-3 weeks after surgery, but complete recovery can take up to 4-6 weeks before you can feel completely normal again.  If this is a new bruise, please call.

Abnormal periods: Sounds more like a hormonal glitch this time. If not straightened out with next cycle you should be checked. Consider pregnancy if possible too.

can endometriosis cause ibs like symptoms? like gas pain, stomach pain, cramps, constipation, diarrhea, and frequent bowel movements? i think i have endometriosis and i have bad bowel problems and im wondering if thats whats causing it?

: SYMPTOMS CAN OVER LAP , MOST OF THE TIME ENDOMETERIOSIS CAUSED LOWER ABDOMINAL PAIN, AND CRAMPING. SOMETIMES IN AS PECIFIC TIME OF THE CYCLE. IBS COULD CAUSE PAIN ANYWHERE AT ANY TIME .

i think i have endometriosis, but my doc told me to take some ibuprofen and deal with it. the pain gets so bad i can't move, so i've been taking twice the daily dosage to manage. now i'm having stomach pain and diarrhea with everything i eat. help?

Be persistent: Ibuprofen can be dangerous when taken in large doses, prolonged times or more frequently than every 6-8 hours. it can cause kidney damage, stomach ulcers and stroke. Follow up with your Dr and let them know that the ibuprofen is not managing the problem. Ask for a referral to a gynecologist who can do some testing and imaging to determine the extent of your disease and suggest treatment.

Abdominal  pain: ReneeT210~ a 2-3cm ovarian cyst are usually coincidental on US and usually causes no problem. Endometriosis, CAN cause that pain and if you are exeriencing pain you should go and see your OB GYN thanks

Belly pain: Endometriosis will cause pain on whatever side the actual deposits are and should radiate based on ur Neuro/Embrio anatomy. Ovarian cyst will most of the time hurt only to the side of its location. However, there are other reasons to have pain in the belly in a young woman, like u. If pain is persistent, please have your doctor examine u ASAP to determine he need for further workup. Hpe u feel btr
