i got resin veneers in my upper teeth last summer and since then i've presented a constant burning sensation in my tongue. daktarin oral gel, oral wound support gel, and difflam been tried as per gp's advice, nothing has worked. may it be an allergy?

i had veneers placed on 10 teeth in february. since then i have been suffering with dry mouth, burning tongue, irritated gums. i have deep cracks in my tongue. could i be allergic to the veneers?

Meds and lip drape: Your meds may be a significant contributor to dry mouth.

Also it is not inconceivable that your lip drape over your new veneers may have changed making it harder to close your lips.  When you relax or sleep your lips may now be slightly parted causing mouth breathing and drying of the tissues.

Combined with the side effect of the medications it can become severe.

in severe pain on upper side mouth. have crown, bridge  & veneers. dent call in pain meds & antibiotics ..see him tomorrow.  what is causing pain??

Could be: Fracture, traumatic occlusion, but most probably infection.  Your dentist will do a differential diagnosis and suggest the appropriate treatment.

Veneers: Strictly speaking, veneers themselves do not "cause root canals".  However, after receiving veneer treatment, sometimes teeth become sensitive or even painful, and root canal treatment (rct) may be indicated to help. Some teeth have unknown 'stressed' or barely live nerves from past trauma or bad bite. If your tooth is in such a condition, the tooth nerve may die soon after veneers, needing rct.

can a front tooth dental veneer, that later becomes chipped, be repaired using composite resin and be color blended so that it is not noticeable?

Yes: Yes it can depending on the extent of the fracture and mostly on the skill and knowledge of the practitioner. Sometimes replacement is the best option  but they can be repaired. See a qualified cosmetic dentist who can explain the pros and cons to both options and be able to perform the procedures properly.

There are methods to make some cosmetic improvements without having to go through the expense of porcelain laminate veneers. However, nothing compares to quality veneers by a competent dentist and dental lab in those circumstances when they are indicated as the best aesthetic alternative.

There's an art to making them look just right, and the investment you will be making in your appearance is designed to last a long time. There really are no shortcuts. Veneers are usually cosmetic in nature, and if that is your case, it's something worth saving for.

Varies : Depends on many factors.  Is there adequate tooth structure to support porcelain veneers?  Do you have parafunctional habbits like Bruxism or Clenching?  Do you have enough teeth in the back of your mouth to support the front?  All of these are factors that can influence which restoration is best for you

One option..: Veneers are one option in the attempt to mask a canine that is protruding. Another option is invisalign. Since this type of cosmetic work is case specific, it would be best to find a trusted dentist in your area who is comfortable tackling cosmetic cases such as yours.
