Yes: For people especially sensitive to caffeine, decaf coffee can still cause symptoms. It is not caffeine free, it just has less caffeine.

is drinking 2 cups of coffee making my heart flutter? i've been drinking it for years with no problem.  it flutters all day now not just right after

Maybe: It sounds like you're having palpitations. That could mean you have an abnormal heart rhythm. You should see your doctor to have an EKG done. 2 cups of regular coffee wouldn't be expected to increase palpitations if that's your normal amount. Avoid other stimulants (energy drinks, nasal decongestants, drugs of abuse).

when are heart palpitations something to worry? i get a skipped beat or a flutter here and there once or twice a day maybe more (i drink a lot of coffee recently 3/4 cups per day) and it happens when im sitting for a while rapidly get up and walk?

: I think it's important for you to determine the nature of your cardiac rhythm when you're experiencing palpitations. This is done by your wearing an outpatient heart monitor and noting when you're feeling palpitations.  Thyroid test is important also. You may be experiencing inappropriate sinus tachycardia. Until evaluated, lessen your caffeine &amp; alcohol intake.

: Glad to hear your dog is normal. Not likely related to your dog but your coffee intake.  Lower it and see. Body is talking to you.  Listen and take good notes and discuss with local Dr.

: Yes, that will be the right adjustment, decreasing caffeine and alcohol ( if applicable) ingested during the day and having balanced days as far as physical/ intellectual work allowing for enough reset time through sleep/rest.

4-5 hours after drinking coffee(decaf) or iced tea i start feeling jittery, heart rate goes up, feel weak in my legs&arms,and kind of dizzy. i cant figure out is it due to caffeine or due to its diuretic properties?why do symptoms appear 4-5 later?

: If what you describe does that then best is to stop taking that. However decaf tea and coffee have very small amount of caffeine- generally not enough to cause the symptoms you describe- unless you are supersensitive to that. To find  if other reasons causing this pl see your doc

Pa;lpitations: If you're able to take your pulse when you experience palpitations it would help a to know the rate and whether the rhythm is perfectly regular or irregular. If rate and rhythm are normal, it's unlikely that there is an abnormal heart rhythm and you're more likely to be experiencing forceful heart beats seen in stress or stimulants. Otherwise your MD can order an outpatient monitor&amp;thyroid tests.

i have hyperthyroid but i love coffee .should i avoid cofee completely due to heart palpitations ?

Yes: Yes, i would avoid coffee, but more importantly, i would try to work with your doctor to get better control of your hyperthyroidism. Until you have better thyroid control, try decaf coffee or herbal teas.

after i consecutive drank 2 cups of coffee (1 before and 1 after meal) i felt heart palpitations and dizziness, is this the effect of coffee?

It could be: This is possible.  But, if it has happened before, or since then, you should see a doctor.
