can coloring your hair kill lice?

No: No product or method destoys all of the eggs and hatched lice with single treatment. There are treatments which include chemicals, natural products, combs, shaving, hot air, and silicone-based lotions. All effective treatments require a two-fold process of killing both the adult lice and the eggs. Generally the eggs (nits) need to be manually picked off 1 by 1 in order to ensure all are removed.

See below: If the lice are caught in the straightener - yes, but more likely they will be near the scalp along with the eggs and the devise will likely not get that close (although the adjacent heat might work).  Still i would say - not guaranteed.

Yes & no: Yes if the heat comes in direct contact but no it's not a reliable method of removing them. They usually scurry around at scalp level & are therefore not all trapped in a wad of hair being ironed.

Bug: why dont you take a picture of it so it can be identified and then treated
make sure if you treat the lice  the eggs should to treated also and the contacts should be treated also
be sure to comb hair with a fine tooth comb

: IF YOU HAVE A BIG BUNCH OF HAIR THAN OTHER INSECTS CAN ATTACH TO IT.WASH YOUR HAIR WITH A SHAMPOO THAT IS ANTI FUNGAL AND ANTI SEPTIC. IF NO RESULT THAN CUT YOUR SHORT AND GO TO A HAIR STYLIST FOR TREATMENT,IF NO RESULT THAN SEE A DOCTOR.

Lice treatment...: Many lice medications are available "over-the-counter" at local drug stores. Each over-the-counter product approved by the fda for the treatment of head lice contains one of the following active ingredients. 
Pyrethrins (a-200, pronto, r&c, rid, triple x)  and Permethrin (nix).  If crawling lice are still seen after a full course of treatment contact your health care provider.

i've used premethrin to kill the lice, but there are still nits on my eyelashes, eyebrows, and hair. any quicker way to remove them besides a nitcomb?

Nit comb necessary: Removing nits with a nit comb is essential. The Permethrin may have to also be used twice, about 7 to 9 days apart. Typically, it is the failure to get the nits off the body with a comb that promotes failure. Lice do not survive off the body. There are cases of 'resistant' lice, but people need to be better about combing them off!

how do i properly use permethrin cream rinse 5% 60 mg to kill lice? can i wash my hair with shampoo after i rinse it? should i add tea tree oil to it?

Follow directions: it sounds like you are using Elimite (permethrin). Use as shampoo and leave on for the recommended time period and then rinse and repeat 7-9 days later. Do not use other shampoos. Anyone suspected of having lice should be treated at the same time. There are weaker solutions for children and babies. Wash all clothing and bed linen in hot water. All the best.

That plan is not : Likely to work. Tx of lice 
requires accurate identification of nits ; / or lice. A pediculicide is usually used- otc like nix (permethrin) or rid or prescription meds like lindane or malathion. Work carefully through hair ; remove individual nits. Purchase a special lice nit comb to aid you. Check for nits ; remove as seen over the next 7 to 10 days. If there are nits after 7 to 10 days – a 2nd pediculicide.

Shampoo and comb!: A thorough shampoo with l% Permethrin (nix) is the most effective over-the-counter treatment.  This should kill all the live insects.  Then it is very important to use a fine-tooth comb through the hair and remove all the tiny white eggs (nits).  These may hatch later if not removed, and start the problem all over.  There are also stronger prescription drugs that your dr. May recommend.
