Yes & no: Yes if the heat comes in direct contact but no it's not a reliable method of removing them. They usually scurry around at scalp level & are therefore not all trapped in a wad of hair being ironed.

Bottom line: After the ironing, there will still be more lice.

No!: That sounds dangerous to me! there are special very fine-toothed combs meant to remove nits (the remaining lice eggs) from strands of hair.
