Yes & no: Yes if the heat comes in direct contact but no it's not a reliable method of removing them. They usually scurry around at scalp level & are therefore not all trapped in a wad of hair being ironed.

I have small round black bug in hair itchy and seem to bite stngs not lice have treated for that didn't kill it. No nits.
