dizziness after acupuncture. is this normal? what should i do?

Can happen: Yes, after lying down for a prolonged period, some protocols can leave a slight sense of being lightheaded when sitting up or standing. This usually dissipates within seconds. Occassionally it will last longer - when that occurs I have the person sit and sip water before leaving.

Acupuncture: Major energy movement treatments can be especially helpful with asthma. I would use it as an adjunct to your current treatment. Acupuncture is reported to assist with thyroid issues - but I can not address this from personal experience. Insure that you have eaten before your acupuncture treatment and that you are well hydrated. Go slowly from lying to sitting to standing. Sit for a while if dizzy.

why do i wake up dizzy more frequently than comfortable? its not that i wake up dizzy and then it goes away. i feel dizzy all day and i have to literally hold on things to keep my balance. what can be the reason?

Needs evaluation:  The more common reason is a condition called benign positional vertigo (BPV) that reflects some issues with the balance mechanism. The dizziness could also be a first sign of some worrisome illness. I would see your doc &amp; review the issue. If it is BPV there are maneuvers that can help make it better. If not, you need to sort this out before something dreadful emerges.

Don't think so: Foods themselves do not cause dizziness.  If you have an abnormal release of Insulin in response to certain foods then your sugar could drop suddenly causing the sense of dizziness.

Ears drugs migraine: Infection or dysfunction of the ear can cause a for of vertigo and dizziness which can be severe.  Medications and drugs will often have side effect of dizziness.  One of the more common symptoms of migraine headaches is dizziness and nausea.  Meniere's disease affects the inner ear, and Dilantin toxicity affects the cerebellum and brainstem.  Ear infections can cause severe dizziness.

No: The active ingredient in every flavor of halls lozenges is menthol.  I have never heard of menthol causing dizziness.

Yes: Yes, because when your blood sugar is high, you can become dehydrated. High blood sugar plus dizziness means it's time to go to the er.

Yes: Very known. As severe dehydration can cause low BP as well as several electrolyte disturbances like increase sodium.
