Needs evaluation: The more common reason is a condition called benign positional vertigo (BPV) that reflects some issues with the balance mechanism. The dizziness could also be a first sign of some worrisome illness. I would see your doc & review the issue. If it is BPV there are maneuvers that can help make it better. If not, you need to sort this out before something dreadful emerges.
