i had a tooth abscess-just had a root canal yesterday. i am still having some dizziness-could this be related to the tooth? i am on day 7 of an antibiotic. a lot of the other symptoms have gotten better-but not the dizziness?

: Dizziness, whether vertigo or lightheadedness, could be related to the procedure itself or medication. I'd give this a few more days to resolve, but if no gradual improvement, see your physician for examination and testing. I hope you'll be able to rest up, drink adequate amounts of fluids &amp; eat properly during this observation period.

Root canal: If the cavity is in close proximity tonthe pulp(nerve) often times the tooth becomes non vital and if root canal is not done in due time abscess does occur due to the infected pulp, 
not sure if the abscess caused you to swell and have fever , you might become malaise and unable to eat good nutrit
ional foes may lead you to be dizzy, get to a root canal specialist or a competent general dentists

Normal?: Within certain limits your symptoms are normal. By the way if you had a root canal because you had pain you had an infection and therefore it is an abscess. Flagyl will do nothing for bacteria causing the problem. You need penicillin, Keflex or Cleocin (clindamycin phosphate) type drugs. It may take time before you see improvement. You did not get this overnight and it will not be cured overnight.

     Neglected dental abscesses can cause a person to become l've seen general surgeons open and close extra-oral openings on a patient's check only for the fistula to return. Directly related to an affected tooth. A patient's eye closed due to an infected nerve from an  upper front tooth. Suggest an immediate visit to the dentist.

Unlikely to bperman.: It can cause serious swelling which can be very serious & even life threatening in rare instances. Typically after appropriate treatment, extraction, root canal or periodontal therapy, the swelling will resolve.
