Diet's not the key: I hope that you will manage your cholesterol and any other coronary risk factors appropriately. Vegans have the moral high ground, but all the really big good studies I've seen have shown no impact of vegetarianism / veganism on any health or longevity parameter when we control for other lifestyle factors. I'm sorry you were deceived. Eat to please yourself and stay physically fit.

Whether : Whether to eat meat or dairy is a personal choice. With that said - to have a balanced diet, a vegan needs to have a significant knowledge base. Vegan diets are often low on vitamin b 12, calcium, vitamin d, iron and other nutrients. If these are not obtained through the diet, there needs to be appropriate forms of supplementation. If you plan to raise your children as vegans, i really suggest you thoroughly educate yourself on the matter. It takes much more careful planning for your kids to fill their nutritional requirements if they are vegans. I would also suggest you work with a good nutritionist, to ensure that children's nutritional requirements are met. A possible option could be a primarily vegan diet with some dairy and /or meat supplementation. Raising children on a vegan diet is not child abuse.  It can however, be trickier than a vegetarian diet or eating that includes fish and meat.
   If you are not vegan based on moral issues and your main concern is about cooking separate meals- how about making the same basic meals for the whole family and augmenting the children's meals to ensure that their intake is balanced?

what is the best resource for a low-fat, low-sugar, low carbohydrate, high protein vegan diet?

Very limited: Food is a combo of protein, carb, fat. Low sugar-easy. Low fat-easy, low carb-easy, high protein and vegan with all the other restrictions-really hard. Most vegan sources of protein e.G beans, tofu, tempeh, seitan, nuts, seeds, have fair amounts of the other nutrients as well. The more restricted a diet, the greater the chances for imbalance (old insight-hippocrates wrote it).

i recently had a fbc done - i have a serum globulin of 22.9g/l (bordline low) and mch of 32.4pg (borderline high) - i eat a vegan diet - can this account for my abnormal figures ? i have a gp apt. next week to discuss and im looking for further info

Stop worrying: These are perfectly fine. Reference ranges are set so that a few percent of healthies fall outside on either end. Your vegan diet will benefit you morally though most of what you've been told about the health benefits disappears when you control for the other healthy-living habits of vegans. You do need scientific guidance on supplementing (B12, iron, calcium, protein, iodine, others). Best wishes

Many things: Intolerance to a particular food, gallbladder disease, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, and others. See your doctor for complete evaluation - your symptoms could indicate a serious condition.

: No. An isolated drop in ferritin to a low normal range of 40 should not cause those symptoms. It would be helpful to know where your blood pressure started when lying or sitting. Orthostatic intolerance can present with farigue and a drop in blood pressure when standing. I would book an appointment with your PCP  to discuss the possibility of this condition further.

Depends: I personally think a vegan diet is NOT particularly HEALTHY (Vitamin supplements/Iron may be necessary) Otherwise many people follow this diet for many years without ill effects.
