Ovarian Cancer: Hi,
Ovarian cancer can sometimes cause hcg levels to go up, but it is variable between patients. Some women with biopsy proven ovarian cancer will have elevated levels but some will not. Ovarian cysts, however, will not make hcg levels go up. Hope this helps.

HCG: I am not sure of the clinic you went to. On exam you can have a reasonable suspicion of an ovarian cyst.   Is it possible this could be an ectopic?  Always possible if you are sexually active.  One easy way to find out is to check a home pregnancy test.

i had a blood hcg test done. it came back 2.600 could that be early or a big fat negative? my one last year was just a simple 2 so im confused?

: If the period in "2.600" is not a comma, this level of HCG may be a very early pregnancy, but any positive level of HCG signifies implantation of a fertilized egg.  Followup levels will confirm the growth/progression of this pregnancy.

Why did you take: Hcg injection? The half life of HCG is from 0.5 to 4 days, depending on the level. Your blood levels of HCG would depend on the dose of hcg, and any stabilizer. You need to address the matter with your doctor with information about last menstrual period, episodes of sex, any medications etc. If you are taking HCG injections to lose weight, you are wasting your money and jeopardizing your health!

8-9 days : The earliest pregnancy test you can take is a quantitative blood test.  It can detect HCG 8-9 days after fertilization of the egg.  If it shows a level less than 25, then it is equivocal and might need to be repeated in a couple of days.  Visit your doctor if there is concern.

One day after missed: period. Blood test for HCG is usually positive one day after, may be even sooner, a missed period, if the woman is pregnant. If you miss your period by 4-5 days, do a home pregnancy test. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully.
If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. 
Practice safe sex. 
Get HPV vaccine.

Yes: It is just as good. You typically don't need much blood (or urine, for that matter) for most tests these days.
