Switch or shot: I see no reason not to switch, and wonder why they would use such a foul tasting and expensive med to start with.If the kid won't take any oral med, a LA Bicillin shot would also work.

Strep is seasonal: Streptococcal throat infections occur more commonly in colder months/seasons.  So naturally, one will catch them more frequently in those months.

.: Get a check if the children start having any symptoms. 
Fever, decreased feed, sore throat, increased crying, rash. Etc.

Since post strep, poorly or inadequately treated can lead to heart and kidney problems (rheumatoid heart disease glomerular nephritis), it's best to find out and treat appropriately.  But using ab's if it is proven leads to resistant orgamisms and problems in your system. Culture!

Dosage is fine: More than that can be given in other acute infections, although for a strep throat 5-6 ml /dose would suffice given your son's weight, but the extra 2-3 ml wouldn't be harmful, probably your son's doctor suspected an upper respiratory infection as well such as acute sinusitis. You may want to verify it with your doctor if you're concerned, otherwise continue till the follow up visit, good luck

PANDAS: Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Strep is a relatively rare condition. The presence of frequent strep infections alone is not PANDAS- as the name implies, neuropsychiatric behaviors are the hallmark with the proper history. There is no "test" the diagnosis is based on history and physical findings alone. Discuss with your pediatrician.

Yes: His/her  dr. Can test for strep. We usually prefer to make a single diagnosis, but both could co-exist. Strep throat should be treated with an antibiotic. There is only symptomatic relief for the flu. Tamiflu (oseltamivir) is said to reduce flu symptoms for beween 1/2 - 1 day and probably not worth taking.
