i have this painful callus on my hand and i have tried to file it down, but the callus keeps coming back. and i was wondering if i can get it removed?

: A callus is an area of thickened skin that arises due to mechanical abrasion or repeated pressure such as is found with certain repetitive manual labor (digging with a shovel, carrying boxes or packages, using handtools, etc). Filing it down will reduce the size and appearance temporarily, but it will just build up again unless the action causing it is changed.

my pinky toe has rubbed a callus between my toes. i keep removing the callus, but it always comes back. what needs to be done to fix this problem?

Specific X-rays.: More than likely, under-lying toe bone, along with shoe pressure, are causing the problem. Have your foot x-rayed and request that a small lead marker be taped to the callus. X-ray your foot, both with and without your shoes on. The image should show both the callus area and the underlying bones that are potentially causing the problem. The choice will be to change shoe style of remodel the bones.

i had l4 metacarpal minimal displaced fracture. out of cast in 4 weeks, with callus formed. there is a large bump in palm, below my l4 finger but slightly above the fracture site bump on the back. i know back bumps were normal, are palm bumps normal?

: Assuming a "minimally displaced fracture" only was treated with external fixation and a stabilizing cast, the healing process can result in extra repair in the healing process distorting the normal anatomy, which can cause projections into the palm area as well as the "back" of the hand.
