Likely endometrioma: At your age, ovarian cancer would be exceedingly rare.  Ca-125 levels can be elevated in young women for a variety of reasons that have nothing to do with cancer.  Nasopharyngeal cancer and ovarian have no relation to each other.  Your doctor should tell you what features or characteristics the ovarian cyst has, this will tell you what kind of cyst it is. ca125 levels were 52. blood was taking day 1 of menstruation. could this be a possible cause of the elevation? i had a clear ultrasound and negative hpv pap?

: This does not by itself indicate ovarian cancer. If there is no family history repeat test and an exam in 6 moths

ast is normal at 23, alt slightly elevated at 42, b12 at 1183, folate and others normal.  ca 125 was normal at 9.  (did drink alcohol 4 days prior to blood work, but typically drink once a week).  are these levels indicative of cancer?

: Not indicative, not ruling out it either. When a tumor marker is checked like in your case, the ordering physician would be best to place it in clinical context and remains your best reference. The slight bump in ALT may be from alcohol, try to abstain for at least a week prior to next blood draw.

No: I tis only important to fast when eating can alter a blood test  result, which is the case when you check blood sugar and blood fats like cholesterol.

Depends: Best decrease is to normal values, less than 25. A good respond to chemo basically will show normal values that will stay normal. Any elevation of ca 125 after chemo may signal recurrence.

Many causes: The ca-125 blood test is very sensitive-- in many cases it is too sensitive.  In certain cases, it can be a marker of certain types of cancer.  But in other patients, a modestly elevated ca-125 is not alarming.  Visit with your doctor to better understand the details of your case.

No need for ca 125: No good screening test for ovarian cancer- not a blood test, not an ultrasound etc. Ca 125 is very non specific- it is not recommended to be done as a screening test.  Only useful for somebody who has ovarian cancer and known to have related increased of ca 125 - to monitor response of teatment and as a follow up. If you're worry about ovarian cancer-you need to see a gynecologist.

No: Ca 125 is a tumor marker  which is frequently associated with ovarian cancer.  The " Ca" refers to carbohydrate antigen which has little to do with cancer except when it is known that ovarian cancer is present.  At that time the test can be used,   for "monitoring" the response to treatment, but not  for making the diagnosis.  One of the frequent causes of an elevated Ca125 is alcoholic cirrhosis.

Ca 125: Yes.  That is in the range considered normal.

i've been told my ca125 blood test is high what could it be as i have bad hot sweats my cyst has disappeared not the menopause had the blood repeated ?

No repeats: Ask your doctor why he ordered the tests in the first place. Did you originally have GU cancer? There is no other reason to do this test
