Yes and no: You are likely being treated with Flagyl (metronidazole).  For that, you should not drink anything with alcohol in it, including cough medications, while you are taking it.

After you are done with treatment and cleared of the c-difficile, you should be able to eat anything you want.

See your doctor: Persistence of diarrhea after therapy for c. Diff. May indicate failure of treatment which is not uncommon. See your doctor to confirm cure or try different med if infection is still present. Dietary manipulation will not help you.

To avoid diarrhea...: It would be prudent to avoid foods that promote diarrhea ; gut distension while you're treating your infection. Aside from any foods your pharmacist advises not mixing with your antibiotics, consider cutting back on fizzy drinks, gas forming ingestants (beans, etc.), foods with high fat content (like cream sauces), caffeine, alcohol. Also, look into taking probiotics, like florastor.

C. diff: Not that I am aware of. I don't think you need to follow any certain diet. Just stay away from caffeine, dairy, fried and fatty foods or any other foods known to cause/aggravate your discomfort. I strongly suggest getting a probiotic supplement to help restore normal flora.

C diff: You can get it from contaminated food or water but also from antibiotics. Ironically treatment is with antibiotics . Taking probiotics is also very helpful.

Garlic: There are as well reports claiming that use of garlic or garlic extract helped in clearing infection eventually. Otherwise I do not see how using garlic in moderation may significantly affect bowel's flora in order to cause a C diff relapse.

C.diff: Clostridium difficle collitis is a serious infection and its after effects can be long lasting if nutrition is poor.   I encourage you to take nutritious diet as tolerated, as in early stage of recovery,  your gut may be able to digest all variety of food due to inflammation.   Keep trying various consistency diets until you can tolerate it.  Good luck !

It depends: In general it is ok to drink ensure.  Can aggravate your diarrhe. Do you still have diarrhea? Is your c. Dif treated?
