Probiotics: May be helpful. Aside from that youse benefit from flagyl.

C. diff treatment: The best treatment for C. diff is not to get it in the first place, as it can form 'spores' and come back later any time you take antibiotics. As far as antibiotics go- the best are oral vancomycin and fidaxomicin. Metronidazole is much cheaper, that's why it's used often. Yogurt may help 'repopulate' the colon with 'good bacteria'. Foods that are easy to digest at this time also may help.
