my end of my penis touched a public toilet seat at a bus station. i'm not sure if was there blood. will i get aids or any other std's?

Accepted Answer

Highly unlikely: Despite the conventional wisdom about public toilets, someone with intact skin and in normal health should not acquire an infection from passing contact.  That being said I would not try to test this concept intentionally.

If accidental contact occurs, washing then and there with soap and plenty of water is the best mode of action.

Bus, why not?: As a urologist, i always recommend frequent voiding to prevent urinary infections and promote bladder health. 

Although many people despise public toilets, especially those that do not flush, the actual transmission of disease is exceedingly rare as long as you take care to clean your hands by washing, using cleansing gels, or wipes.

Frustrated?: More common for any trigger when in teens, unless sexually frustrated? Not uncommon to occasionally get erections, unless you mean occurs for every bus, then may have unusual romantic connection, ? W/models pictured on ads on side of bus? In any event, does not sound harmful.

Some tips: Sleep eye covers are very inexpensive - just make sure that you get one that blocks out the light well.  Ear plugs are also cheap but invaluable. You can also use headphones to play quiet music on an i phone or similar gadget.

Sleep Study: You should get a sleep study done either at a sleep study center(best) or have your doctor order at home sleep study (as long as it has some form of positional monitoring) to get an accurate diagnosis first. If no sleep apnea your dentist can fabricate a variety of oral devices that can help with your snoring.

Yes, definitely: The biggest worry with travel and pregnancy is that a woman is at slightly increased risk of blood clot.  Ways to prevent that are: 1) drink a lot of water; 2) ambulate frequently if she can.  Get up, walk around.  There are also leg exercises she can do to help move the blood that might pool in her legs back to her heart. She can do these while sitting.  I also recommend compression stockings.
