Viral Symptoms: Hi!. Sorry you are not feeling 100%. Clusters of bumps in the mouth generally are due to a viral infection, especially if painful.  Mucosal changes can be from infection, injury, allergies, irritants, and sometimes serious issues as well. Have these bumps examined and perhaps cultured for viral and/ or bacterial infections. Lots of things!: Bumps can be due to numerous things, however on the upper lip it could be a herpes lesion/cold sore, a nevus/mole, a wart, or even a pimple.  Your family physician can probably determine the cause.  Skin cancer is always a rare possibility, but at 24 Y.O. It would be less likely.

HSV-1, - oral herpes: This herpes causes sores around the mouth and lips. It is a contagious condition with symptoms typically appear as a tiny blister or as multiple blisters on or around affected areas. There is no cure for herpes simplex. Once a person has the virus, it permanently dormant remains in the body.

Lip lesions: White bumps on the upper lip could be a number of things.  The most common of which are specialized glands called Fordyce spots.  In order to be certain, i recommend you consult a dermatologist to rule out other possibilities including flat wart, milia, etc.
