Insect bite: This has the characteristics of a target lesion which may mean lymes disease.  Im not sure what part of the country you live in or what you were bitten by, but you need to be seen to have this evaluated and possibly be put on antibiotics.

i keep getting bit at night on legs. ranges from small n itchy to large swollen hard hot itchy painful with pustule. what could it be? help! age 21

there is an insect bite or a pustule on front side of lower left leg. it may or may not be an insect bite. there was some pus and redness spread around the area and there seems to be inflammation in the vicinity as well as on the ankle. any treatment?

Infection: Most likely this is an area of a staph skin infection. Keep the area clean and dry, use a thin layer of antibiotic ointment three times daily to the area and please see urgent care for evaluation, if worse  or persistent symptoms occur. Monitor for fever, increased swelling, pus and redness.

No: You will increase the chance of infection if you pop them   let them heal.

Get checked for : Immunodeficiency, autoimmune condition, diabetes, seborrheic dermatitis etc. God bless u!

Some thoughts...: There can be many reasons for the rash you describe, but i'd first look for any new medications started in the past month, i.E allergic reaction.  Also, are you having fever, muscle aches, fatigue?  You could be having some sort of infection.  Bottom line, rashes like these are very hard to diagnose without seeing them, and because they're painful, i really suggest getting them checked out soon.

i get these huge pustules on my hands and thighs every now and then. they're painful sometimes . what do i do?

Culture: First thing would be to see a dermatologist and get one of these pustules cultured to determine if this is an infectious process or some other skin disorder

on day 5 of keflex (7 day course) for vulvar folliculitus. has helped a bit but noticed some new pustules growing. should they be cleared up by now?

Expected: It sounds like the proper time course for improvement. To help with some of the redness and inflammation you may talk to your doctor about using a topical steroid.

Staph infection: You have a very serious bacterial infection called MRSA. Please go see your physician urgently. This can be very serious.

Your rash : has now become infected and need to be treated with antibiotics topically and or orally . Please stop the steroid creams for now and go see your doctor for treatment before it gets worse.
