Could be: Scabbing from the bite marks or the beginning of an infection. If you think it could be a spider bite it could be dead tissue from the venom. See your doctor.

Maybe: If that center is a scab, then it's likely not a big worry. If it is a necrotic area (area of dead tissue), the yes. In this instance it could be a brown recluse bite. If it's an abnormally pigmented group of cells, melanoma must be ruled out. I'd see my doctor for clarification.

Go see your doctor: Pus = infection. Painful redness = infection. Both indicate infection that's not going away on its own. In other words, it's time for you to go see your family doc or perhaps to urgent care for evaluation & treatment. Cutaneous abscess: This sounds like indeed it could be a small localized infection - whether it started as a spider bite or something else. It&#x27;s hard to tell : Unless u saw the offending agent itself. Can be from anything- spider , ant, scorpion , tick etc. Follow up with your Dr if the area gets redder and bigger &amp; you may need to take antibiotics. Best wishes!

Maybe spider: It does sound like an insect bite. These sometimes become infected and end up as abscesses which require drainage. A brown recluse spider can cause a bite that often causes tissue damage and may appear black. Have the lesion reviewed by your doctor for further care.
